The Finnish Aeronautical Association does not send athletes to competitions in Russia
At its meeting held on February 24, 2022, the Board of the Finnish Aeronautical Association has decided that it will not send athletes to competitions or trainings in Russia and will not pay sports / competition subsidies or other grants to such participants.
The board also decided to send a proposal to the World Air Sports Federation, FAI, that it would cancel any competitions already under the FAI that are to be held in the territory of the Russian Federation.
The above decisions are valid until further notice.
The reason for the above decisions is the armed conflict in Ukraine and, as a result, the deteriorating security situation in Russia. The safety of Finnish citizens is important to the Finnish Aeronautical Association.
